Beth would like me to tell who ever it is that is obsessed with that pirate joke that it's written around the edge of the newest ben folds five cd. she says she read about someone being obsessed with this joke through someone i link to. apparently, you're not the only one.

Like, oh my gosh!

That is soooo september 10 .

Seriously, does anyone say that? am i just not hip to what the kids are saying?

Banned Books Week

So, we're smack in the middle of Banned Books week

I'm not going to write a 20 page diatribe or anything. But if you have some free time, follow my link, and get a banned book to read. Many of them are for kids, so you'll only need to devote and hour or two. I've read an awful lot of these books, Most in my childhood, some for school. I've read 8 of the top 10 most challenged books. And I turned out fine, In fact I barely remember why the caged bird sings, the chocolate war and bridge to teribithia, so they couldn't have been that shocking. Maybe, later today, when I get bored I'll count how many of the books I've read. I'm going to the library to get the other 2, and maybe re-read the chocolate war.

I would very much like to be on the challenged books list. But much like the way I will never be a hollywood star, because I have no desire to act, there is very little chance that I write a book in my lifetime, much less a "shocking" children's book. But maybe one day I'll get bored of my public library and develop some new discipline. Sex librarianship or something. Then I'll be an expert in my field, and have to write a book. and hopefully it will get challenged, giving me lots of free publicity. And one day, in my dreams, I will be on the challenged books list too.

Judy Blume very much kicks ass on this issue. One day when I'm at an ALA convention If i meet Ann M. Martin and Judy Blume in the same day, I think that will be just too much stimuli and i may just explode. Just because Judy's adult fiction, ummm, kinda sucks, is no reason to condemn her retroactively. I would like to read her book Places I Never Meant To Be: Original Stories By Censored Writers, but it's going to take a bit of interlibrary loaning before that happens, or i can just buy it used for $2 plus shipping on amazon

The whole reason I wrote this post was so I could quote this "Even pinup girls deserve a passionate defense." the article is fairly standard, but that line just struck my fancy.

It's just too bad no one protests Shakespeare anymore, because I could really do with less of that in my life. Although, as soon as someone starts protesting I'll have to defend it by saying, "Just because I think it's crap doesn't mean people don't have the right to find that out on their own. "

Happy reading!

Hey guys

I'm bored. Let's hang out.

Unfortunately, I'm bored because of a lack of interesting things happening, and not because of a lack of things happening.

This weekend I'm going to the Avocado festival in carpenteria. I hope it's fun. I saw it on tv and read about it, and that basically way over-satisfies my requirements for researching and getting excited about a new activity.

But next weekend, we should totally hang out.

I guess this is growing up

So much blogging to do, so little time...here we go in reverse chron. order:

I've made it through another growing up milestone (read: i'm old). I've been asked, and I agreed to buy something through a school fundraiser. The wrapping paper is still super expensive, but the other trinkets aren't unreasonable, and quite a bit more attractive than the crap I had to sell for fundraisers. I just spend 17.75 on two things I don't need, yet, somehow will die without.

American Dreams came back on tv yesterday. After a summer full of watching fox and cartoon network on sunday nights it was a welcome change. I did a decent job of forgetting about it during the summer break, but when september rolled around I checked the NBC website to make sure it hadn't been canceled and started counting the days till yesterday. Unfortunately, it's now september 1965 and Meg's (Brittany Snow) amazing blonde curls have given way to her more modern, straighter hair. This makes me sad. I wish she would do a little less war protesting and a bit more hair curling, unfortunately the show is having her grow up. It won't stop me from watching though, I'm still hooked.

In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room

My sister tried to download the Hilary Duff version of that song for me, unfortunately we ended up with the regular version mis-labeled.

I went to a fun little tiki bar, Purple Orchid, in El Segundo. I should have pictures for y'all next week. The crowd could have stood to be more tiki, but the place itself is cool. I got a drink in a volcano bowl (big enough for 2. i saw them make it in 2 pint glasses and then throw it into the blender). the bowl was like a small chip and salsa bowl, with the salsa in a cavity in the middle and the chips around it. only the blue was around and they set the middle on fire. yea for tiki! the bathroom was papered in pages from some old tiki book. you know how i love interesting bathrooms. Also cool in a creepy sort of way they had blow fish lights hanging from the ceiling. Some of them we wearing leis and sunglasses. It was fortunate it was a tiki bar and not a place that encouraged halucinatory drugs.

I imagine if you get there early, with a large group of people you could pretty much own the place. it would be fun for pictures. Mondays they have manicures and martini's for $10. I'm thinking I should start a website revewing every manicure and martini night I come across.

Girls vs. Boys

Playing 'Boy' Games Helps Girls, and Vice Versa

Another story about gender roles that basically has no point or conclusion or really any reason for being a news story... That's all for today, I'm going back to my tea parties, knitting and talking about my feelings.

Arrgh! Creepy!!!

It's all clear now

I just realized something.

There's a reason I don't have a good job and a great apartment, fame, fortune and a magical winged unicorn . It's because of all those chain letters I broke. Seriously, I must have like 500 years of back luck coming to me.

It all became clear to me now that this girl at work sent me one.

The Longest Yard

So, my super sleuthing skills helped me figure out what they're filming at Alondra park. Well, maybe it was more of my reading craigslist and the daily breeze skills. I was on the verge of stopping by one day when they weren't filming and reading all the reserved parking signs and figuring it out that way.

It turns out they're not filming at Alondra park, where all the trailers are kept, they're filming at the adjacent El Camino College football field.

Adam Sandler, Burt Reynolds and some wrestling guys are starring in the remake of The Longest Yard. Not that i've ever heard of it. but apparently it's about prisoners who are in a football team, while they're in prison. and apparently this is based on reality, where our tax dollars are funding this? i haven't checked into it yet, but my dad claims it's real.

Anyway, http://www.beinamovie.com/ allows you the exciting opportunity to stand around all day in the hot sun in exchange for free lunch and the chance to be in the same football field as the aforementioned stars.

So, mystery 1 is solved.

Now, for filming mystery 2.

They're filming something in the bottom of the DelAmo mall near the information desk, where the book store used to be. There are a bunch of christmas decorations slapdashedly taped up and half a giant christmas tree. the bottom half. I thought it was a bit early for christmas decorations, but you know, they get put up earlier and earlier every year. then i noticed a sign that said crew. and then a sign that said, please excuse the inconvienence while we're filming. I'm pretty sure that a prison-football movie wouldn't involve christmas at the mall. But I could be wrong.

If I wasn't such an airhead I would have walked 20 steps out of my way and asked what was happening at the info desk. maybe next week.

Del Amo Mall has been featured in the classic movies "valley girl" and "jackie brown" along with some movie I never learned the name of although someone gave me the impression that it was a christmas movie. They used the outside part of the former Montgomery Ward and changed the name to ABC Electronics.

Following the the footsteps of it's older brother, the SouthBay Galleria, just down the street, is trying hard to break into show biz too. After being the site of a JFK speech (i can't confirm this as i wasn't born, but my mom claims it's true, but she gives a lot of bad information), by the real JFK, not some actor playing him, it eventually became a mall. It was featured in no less than 2 episodes of the disney channel show "even stevens" and that commercial for something, twix maybe, that involved the guy on the escalator who gets his pants eaten off by the escalator, but he's so into the product they're selling that he doesn't care.

Foam!

I slept fantastically last night, and I owe it all to my new foam pillow. I'm very close to becoming obsessed with foam now. I've been thinking about getting one for 2 months, after trying one out. But I finally got one yesterday. After checking out different ones, including the $80 ones at Robinsons-May, I got a $15 one from big lots. I poked at it plenty and it didn't seem like crap. And it isn't!

This memory foam is the wave of the future. Now I want to get that mattress you have to buy off the TV. Then I'll commission some furniture, and line my whole house with it.
Hopefully this foam thing will catch on in a big way and the prices will drop. It works for electronics, and it worked for my cardigan sweaters...

Hey look! I wrote a newsflash

Moonshadow Looms Overhead

Recent news of Cat Stevens' possible terrorism connections prompted Berkeley student Jennifer White, 19, to recall her ex-boyfriend, Brian Jones. "We were sitting on the couch talking, and drinking wine when he walked over to the stereo to play what I now realize was 'The Very Best of Cat Stevens' and then we started making out, he carried me to his bed, and, umm, you know," White confessed to her sorority sisters as she played with the gum in her mouth.

"I don't know what's worse the fact that we made love all night long to terrorist music, or that I didn't realize it was hippy music," White complained. "How could I have participated in such a cheezy stereotype? " she asked as she made a cheerleading pose and her blond ponytail bounced in the air. "That horrible Moonshadow song must have played three or four times that night." White then added "Well, I didn't really love him, so maybe we were just making like."

Jones could not be reached for comment about his terrorism connections or questionable taste in music.

Dear Torrance City Council,

Are you people retarded? Or do you just enjoy making people's lives miserable.
First you stop housing from being built, now you're trying to make people have bad cell phone reception. What is your deal?

Torrance is a fantastic place, a great location, easy access to freeways, perfect weather. I would love to live there, but I can't afford it, because you're keeping housing tight. Instead, I work and spend my disposable income almost exclusively in Torrance. I even write checks to TUSD because I'm taking an adult school class. Is it too much to ask that I have cell phone reception from my class at Richardson Middle school in southwest Torrance all the way to my home in Gardena? I don't think it is, it's not that far. I get better reception in the middle of farm land on the 5 freeway than I do at the intersection of Crenshaw and Torrance Blvd. The same goes for my Grandma's house, she lives near Redondo Beach Blvd and Prarie.

Do you hate me? Is this a personal attack against me. Because it feels like it is. I would love to see a renovated Del Amo mall, and live near there and make all the phone calls I desire. It doesn't really seem like I'm asking for a lot. All of my dreams you just crush.

Mr. Dan Walker, you are lucky I don't live in Torrance. I should find myself a studio apartment and move though. Because I could give you a run for your money next election. Who are people going to vote for, someone who hates progress, or me, young, attractive with a strong Torrance base. I graduated from North High in 1998, and went through Torrance schools from K-12. All those people will remember, and vote for me. I stand for progress, I stand for consumerism, I stand for streets fixed in a timely manner, and I stand for clear cell phone reception for all.

When I win your job, you should think about moving to Berkeley. Their city council rivals yours on the causing trouble for residents scale. Have you ever thought about electing a tele-tubby for a city mascot or banning sitting on the sidewalk?

Attorney Says Heels May Hurt Sobriety Test

Not that I'm really in danger of DWI, but it's good to know.

Fall is in the... glass...

Eureka. I've made a breakthrough in my deep frying. I bought a piece of salmon to deep fry, but when it came time for dinner i realized the only beer in my fridge besides my dad's absolutely disgisting mgd was my Buffalo Bills Pumpkin Ale , and I didn't really want to waste my nutmeggy goodness on beer batter, but i was curious. And it was fantastic! Usually I use the trader joes fat weasel ale for my deep frying, its a decent beer at a good price. I think next time i'll try the weasel and add nutmeg. Because that could be the secret ingredient.

So, it's almost fall and the Pumpkin ale is in stores again. I have definitely seen it at Cost Plus this season, and quite possibly albertsons. if you haven't tried it, do. i know last year i bought my first one by the single bottle at cost plus. then i was hooked. it smells like pumpkin pie (nutmeg mostly). but it doesn't taste like pumpkin pie. it mostly just tastes like good beer.

up till now i was mistakenly under the impression that the pumpkin ale had to be consumed alone, but that was because i made the mistake of trying to drink it with tacos. nutmeg and taco spice, not really a winning combo. salmon and pumpkin beer = delicious. Actually, I think i have a new love for salmon. And they sell it in such fantastic 6oz pieces at albertsons. I wonder if i just like it because it's pink. Recently I noticed in the ad they've been printing "color added" next to the salmon. so I came up with some crazy schemes of ways to add color, and my sister helped, then i looked it up. salmon, like flamingos get their color from the food they eat in the wild. farm raised salmon don't eat what wild salmon eat, so their food has color added. it's not like it's injected into the flesh or anything. i wonder if i could turn blue if i just drank nothing but blue icees for like a week. or maybe i'd have better luck taking shots of frosting dye. but that stuff is expensive!

wheee! Posted by Hello

I should talk to strangers

As a general rule, most of you know, I don't talk to strangers. But sometimes it works out.
I was sitting alone in the back (third) row of the Borders appearance for Todd Parr, and the only one there without kids. Then this lady comes and ask if the seats next to me are taken. She's well dressed with black, black hair and red lipstick, and a small upturned nose. She doesn't look like she brought any kids, yet she was holding an armful of books she was going to get signed, so i asked her if she brought kids and she responded "Oh, I don't have kids. They take up too much room" and I said "oh, good, I'm not the only one" then she softened. and then her gay friend came, who has a crush on Todd Parr, and if I had to guess I would say Todd was of a similar persuasion.

These people were totally fun! they were both in their 40, but still "hip" or whatever. And they made the story time even better. we talked about childrens books, and if Todd wore boxers or briefs, the underwear book, and other books about underwear and butts, and they wanted me to grow up to be an underwear designer. i told them, in my dreams.

so these people see this guy, who's sort of in charge of the appearance. and they're basically twins. they have the same stature, same graying hair and they're both wearing a black t-shirt and green khakis. and it turns out that my new gay friend has basically the same job for a barnes and noble in santa monica, it was very amusing. because these people included me in their conversation like we were old friends. Apparently they talk about people having doubles on occasion. And the lady is hoping to meet a 40 year old emily strange as her double. She apparently goes to book signings and gets authors to sign books for charity. I was impressed.

Also, for some reason, they were giving away a $400 vaccuum at the signing. and the odds were really good. probably 1:20 or less. I didn't want a vaccuum a few hours before. But by the end of the reading I really, really, really wanted this vaccuum. I was going to sell in on ebay, and use the money to buy the coat that I want and some more Todd Parr books. Unfortunately, neither I nor my new friends won the vaccuum. We were all sad, because for some reason the idea of owing a $400 vaccuum was the best thing in the world. We were mad, because all the kids who could write (not a lot could) were entering. The lady thought you shoudn't be able to win a vaccuum if you weren't old enough to use it. I didn't stick around to see the winner, but the winner used initials rather than his first name, and I suppose kids aren't pretentious enough to do that.

Todd, has some interesting sponsors. There was a "gift bag" that contained a letter printed on State Farm letterhead about family storytime, a copy of people magazine, a kudos bar, a toll house cookie bar, a packet of splenda, a coupon for lactaid and 2 borders balloons (uninflated). Also, for free were packaged cookies and juice pouches. I got the last pouch of circus animals, and my new friends were way too excited about me sharing with them. That was another thing we agreed on, circus animals are the best.

Anyway, Todd Parr was fabulous. His favorite book is the Underwear Do's and Dont's book, and it's mine too. Even though I already own a copy, I bought a second one and got it signed. I wish the books were a bit cheaper I would have bought a few more. But $8 for a book you can read in 30 seconds is a bit much. Now, of course, I wish I had bought more books.

I wish I knew the names of my new friends, because they'd be fabulous at parties. I hope Todd gave the lady the drawings he did at the reading, they might be worth something. He sells his paintings on his website for $1,500. And I hope the friend got a date with either the book store twin or Todd. Because they were fun. If all strangers were fun and cool like that I wouldn't have such and aversion to talking to them. I probably never would have started talking to them if the man had sat down first. Maybe I'll start talking to strangers. Or not.

Cinderella Story

So, I didn't check the new $3 theater listings until after I got home from work on friday, or I would have added the Hilary Duff Cinderella Story movie to my list of weekend things that only I care about.

So, after going to CSU Dominguez Hills (surprisingly about 20 mins from my house, who knew?) and paying for parking, only to find that their online library catalog lies, and they don't have the journal I'm looking for, I went to the early showing of Cinderella story or whatever it's called.
I went in not expecting a great movie, and that's exactly what i got. i was entertained though, although, unlike the Lizzie McGuire movie, i wouldn't buy it on video, even if i found it on clearance for $6. Also, quite possibly some of my enjoyment came from the 32oz blue icee that I couldn't stop myself from buying. 32oz is a lot of icee. Even though they often burn the popcorn in that theater, the icees are still perfect.

I'd like to make a few comments.:

Unlike the poster, in no place does Hilary Duff wear a wedding dress with pink converse sneakers, although she does wear both separately.

Hilary Duff's dream is to go to princeton, because when she was little her dad told her his dream was for her to go to college and the following dialogue happened:
Little Hilary: where do princesses go to college?
Dad: Hmmm, I suppose they go where the princes go.... Princeton
i don't know what i didn't think of that

Instead of dropping her shoe at the ball she drops her cell phone, and chad michael murry is too dumb to call any of the numbers on the phone and ask who the phone belongs to

This movie is another one where the protagonist wears only a small mask over her eyes and no one recognizes her

The most annoying part was they kept mentioning there was a drought. Every morning during school announcements, when watering the lawn, at the car wash etc. I could not figure out why they were beating me over the head with this freaking drought *warning spoiler (like i believe anyone cares)* so 5 minutes from the end Hilary tells c. m. murray "waiting for you is like waiting for rain in the drought" and guess what! 2 minutes later he goes to apologize, and it starts to... rain! and the valley rejoices. and then i felt like an idiot, not seeing it coming from the first mention of drought. But what was more idiotic was that it was pouring down rain in a Hilary Duff movie and they didn't use her rain song. That made no sense at all.

stay tuned for the next review of a Hilary Duff movie. It should be at the $3 theater in a few months. I don't understand the obsession with entertainment about performing arts schools. I just saw the Julia Stiles one on cable a few weeks ago. It was bad.

sadness

I got my first SPAM in my gmail account. it was caught by the spam guard, but still. it makes me sad. it just found me. i haven't used my gmail account for anything but a little storage and a rare personal email. no mailing lists, no registrations. nothing.

that's okay. i'll be happy when i get my tigerfruit smoothie. 17 minutes and counting.

Tigerfruit smoothie

Oh-my-freaking-gosh!!! I can't believe i didn't check the neopets news yesterday. A tigerfruit smoothie would have been much healthier than the ben and jerry's cookie dough ice cream bar i ate for dinner last night.

http://www.neopets.com/jambajuice/

oh-my-freaking-gosh! tiger-freaking-fruit! this is going to be a very "exciting only for me" packed few days, jamba juice today, todd parr sunday, and if i can get someone to bring me apprentice ice cream i may just be able to die happy.

and in even more ice cream news: i never had a ben and jerry's ice cream bar before yesterday. i dont' know why...but i was running late, and there weren't any fast food places on the correct side of the street, and i had to stop at big lots to pick up some non-dairy creamer, so i just bought a cookie dough "peace pop". it was only about 300 calories, much less than a fast food meal and it was good! the chocolate on the outside was a bit thick for my taste, but nothing rivals those huge streams of cookie dough goodness. if you've never had one, it's worth it just to see the giant cookie dough bits. I don't know how much they cost in a regular venue, but at big lots it was only $1.88.

How are pirates and rappers alike?

They both say "yo, ho"

Apparently, Sunday is National Talk Like a Pirate Day

R.

Donut dream

I tried to blog about the apprentice last week, but it got too long and i just deleted the whole thing. I'll keep it shorter this week. i promise.

seriously, how can a group of women be so bad at selling ice cream? they love ice cream. i know i do! it's because, when put in a group and put on tv, they can't help but turn into stereotypes. we learned this last night and last week. women over analyze, talk to much and worry about their feeling too much. Boys, we learn, are dumb. but when it comes to a selling task, they're right on. honestly, crustacean nation. that's ridiculous.

anyway, the whole reason for this post is this:

apprentice ice cream

I wish I didn't have so much to do this weekend. I would definitely go. maybe someone will go in my stead.

In other ice cream news. I tried that jack-in-the-box shake. it was exactly what i was expecting, but not as good as i was hoping. what is it about fast food shakes that make them all taste the same? the chocolate covered malt nuggets were worth trying though. and there's a promotion now, you get a free "chilly" jack antenna ball when you buy any shake.

also, if anyone wants to see Todd Parr with me, I'll be at the borders in torrance sunday afternoon.

Thursday, September 16, 2004

There's been a bit of a minor outrage at work this week, since I went to the 98 cent store and did not come back with any chocolate mushrooms. They were out, and we all hope this was a temporary problem.

One lady took the things that we thought were substitutes for chocolate mushrooms back home to her daughter and she threw a fit, because apparently they aren't very similar at all.

I don't know why people like them so much. They're definitely cute, but as far as chocolate covered biscuts go, I think I prefer pocky.

I've apparently started a trend. and I wasn't even trying, but I guess that's how the best one's start. In a company full of Chinese people, I'm the expert on Japanese novelties.

I brake for giraffes

This was the license plate holder on some fancy, shiny blue convertible I saw parked near the beach today.

Someone please explain.

Surely, I brake for giraffes too. As big as my car is, I bet running through a giraffe would seriously do some damage.

Vanilla Sky

I always thought that should be the name of an ice cream cake, and not some Tom Cruise Movie.

The people from our taiwan office are visiting this week. they are exactly how i imagine people who live in taiwan are. they're leaving tonight, so we're taking them out to lunch. we're having chinese food. does that make sense? i think these people need ribs, or fried chicken, or hamburgers. in fact, i've been dying to go to jack-in-the-box and try the new chocolate malted crunch shake. but, as i've gone back to my pre happy meal neopets eating habits, i just can't seem to get myself to a jack-in-the-box when i'm in the mood for one. has anyone tried one yet?

Rite-aid has raised the price of thrifty ice cream. it used to go on sale for $1.99 a box. now it's 2 for $5 and you have to buy 2. and anyone who has ever seen the inside of my freezers knows that it's serious work to make room for 2 boxes of ice cream. I'm almost there though, wish me luck, and wish that the ice cream goes on sale this sunday. mmmm. chocolate malted crunch sounds mighty good right now. and don't make the mistake i did of buying the coffee flavored one with biscotti chunks. not only is the box ugly, but the biscotti is so disgustingly fake almond flavored it made me sad. thrifty ice cream is most definitely NOT supposed ot make me sad.
I'm going to ask my parents for an ice cream maker for christmas. I'll start next month. but i'm afraid that my mom has already shown me my christmas present (so i wouldn't buy it myself) and that she's not getting me anything else. but it's a barbie thing, so it's as much for her as it is for me. also, i'm afraid i might, literally, die from eating too much heavy cream. it killed those baskin robbins guys, and i don't think that their ice cream is super premium (read: super, extra fatty) the way that the ice cream that is sold in pints is. i could be wrong though. i sort of consider baskin robbins part of my childhood, and therefore not really quality.

I'd have the best deep fried ice cream ever though.

This is my 100th post

woo hoo!

My 100th post will be about turning in my first assignments for library school, which I did today. They were supposed to be due yesterday, but he gave us an extension because the website we were supposed to use went a bit screwy over the weekend. But I've now officially turned in grad school work. And I have to say, it's not really my best. But it's not my fault the assignment was so uninspiring. I'll have my chance to shine later, I hope.

My program has decided to adopt the Americal Psychological Association's format for every freaking thing I have to write. My papers that are 2 pages will be for practice, and those over 3 pages will be for real and we can get graded down for not being perfect. And, no one seems to like this. Not the professors, not the person at orientation, and certainly not the students, none of whom have ever used this godforsaken book before. Not only is it $26 I could put toward my beautiful coat, but it is ridiculously fat, and still quite unhelpful. APA , I wish you were never born. MLA, I'm so sorry I ever said anything bad about you. You were the best, I'll never make fun of that copper stripey color that you are ever again. I miss you. Maybe we can get together and plot to push APA off a cliff.

Best Coat Ever

This is the best coat ever, after the last coat I bought, because that one was pretty great too.

Best Coat Ever

I didn't buy this one yet, because I already have a dress coat. But this one is more versitile. It can be an all season coat while my other one is definitely for winter. And it fits me perfectly. 3/4 sleeves my ass, they're exactly the right length on me! and the waist is in the right place and everything. It's such a pretty coat.

I want this coat. If you ever see it on sale, call me immediately. Do not leave the store if they have it in large. Either color will do, but I prefer the lighter one.

If you know anyone who works for Arden B and can get me an employee discount I will do what I can to make it worth their while.

It's so pretty.

then there's a yes box to the left with a tiny pixely drawing of kerry. then a larger picture of bush, then a no box to the right with a tiny picture of someone most closely resembling nixon than anyone else i can think of. Is he running again this year? Because I'm pretty sure that he's dead.

then there's a paragraph explaining the whole same sex marriage controversy
then a 1-900 fax number where you're supposed to check a box and fax in your yes or no answer.

Calls to 1-900 numbers cost $3.95 per minute, a small price for a greater democracy. Calls take approx 1.5-2 minutes....

The result of this nation wide survey will be presented to the three Presidential Candidates, Congress and the Supreme Court.

Wow, there's just so much greatness in this one fax.... I can't even begin to comment. I'm thinking of taking it home to scan and posting it.

filming

They are filming something at Alondra park, about a mile from my house. The parking lot is full and there are lots of trailers that say "paramount" There are bright yellow signs leading people to he location labeled "YARD." I was hoping it was a sign for a fancy yard sale that would be in the area.

There ought to be a website where people can go and put in the name written on the sign and find out what movie is being filmed. A little info would not make up for, but at least would explain the extra congestion it causes the community.

I wonder if they will be there this weekend. Because people are going to be quite upset if they can't have their labor day bbqs at the park. I guess that's just another reason to buy a house.
