Gyoza Eating Championship


How did I miss this?? I was in Little Tokyo for the Tofu Festival 2 weekends ago. How didn’t I pay attention to this?? I promise to follow competitive eating more closely from now on. These people are my new heroes.

Joey Chestnut edged out Sonya Thomas by two gyoza to win the dumpling contest. Chestnut ate 212 gyoza to Sonya's 210.

    I love gyoza. When I come back, find me and I will do this and win. Beyond that I recently went to a place called Namjatown and they had various regional styles (10 different styles).

    I don't know who those yutzes were, but they had some photos of it (the first few with the cat).

    Did some Google searching and found your blog. Just to let you know, the Gyoza Eating Championship is happening again. It will feature Pat Bertolletti (#2 in the world) and a full lineup of Major League Eaters.
