Chicken and Waffles

I suppose chicken and waffles has never been gourmet. But it’s always tried to have a bit of an edge. This all comes to an end now, with the $1 million prize winner for the Pillsbury Bake-off.

Baked Chicken and Spinach Stuffing sounds innocuous enough. That's because the name doesn’t even begin to describe the horrors within.

So you take super boring chicken breast, season it up, and make a glaze of syrup, peach jelly and Worcestershire—not the worst thing ever, but not particularly interesting. Then you pop that in the over and the fun begins!

Mix cubed, toasted waffle sticks with onion, spinach, chicken broth and an egg white for binding. Then pop it in the oven.

And when you’re done, you have the most dull, yet awful sounding chicken and waffles ever. That being said, I am absolutely going to try this recipe very soon.

I don't know if I'm getting older and snobbier, but the bake-off just hasn't been capturing my imagination lately. Or maybe they've finally just run out of things to do with Pillsbury products.

I haven't watched it yet, but please feel free to watch the videos on the Bake-off home page.
