'Maid in Japan' cafes treat geeks like lords
In America it's cosplay, in Japan it's just work.
In the cafes, girls dressed in frilly frocks inspired by comic-book heroines wait hand and foot on customers, mostly male, who might have once been obsessed with naughty schoolgirls and nurses.

I don't know, but I heard about this maybe a year ago, and STILL, still you can see clips of them on television, where someone's getting excited that this exists. In two more years, I expect one of these in every big city in Japan.
